Monica’s parents migrated to the U.S. from Mexico in search of a better life. Monica learned from their experiences the obstacles that the undocumented community faces. As a result, Monica has made it her mission to give back to her community in any shape and form possible. Prior to joining HNH, Monica interned for the non-profit Social Justice Collaborative and volunteered at the Domestic Violence Restraining Order Clinic in Richmond, CA. She also worked on Ed reform. Monica graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 2017. Her work throughout the years has inspired her to go even further by planning to attend law school in the future. Monica joined HNH in 2017. While being a part of HNH, Monica has mostly enjoyed learning from the attorneys how the system works and using this knowledge to be a resource to the clients by thoroughly explaining to them the process of their cases.
