Selina Sanchez Cristobal studied Film and Community Studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz. She is originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico but migrated to Oakland, California with her family at the age of 7. She strives to work in an environment that allows for undocumented folx to advocate for themselves and their rights through a Human Rights Framework. Prior to working with HaleyNelson & Heilbrun, LLP, she interned with the Coalición de Derechos Humanos and No More Deaths/ No Mas Muertes’ Missing Migrant Hotline in Arizona before becoming the Missing Migrant Hotline Coordinator for the South Texas Human Rights Center. While working on both these hotlines she advocated for families searching for their loved ones who disappeared crossing the US-Mexico border.
