LGBTQIA+

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA+) clients may have unique challenges to seeking immigration help. The LGBTQIA+ population on a global level is often one of the most vulnerable and yet invisible at the same time.  LGBTQIA+ clients often feel an increased vulnerability and stay in the closet fearing deportation. Our goal is to provide a safe space, and to acknowledge and honor our LGBTQIA+ clients unique struggles, and to empower them throughout the immigration process.

Ultimately, when our LGBTQIA+ clients obtain lawful status, they also gain access to employment, education, and health benefits, and can more fully embrace their life and opportunities here in the United States.

Our office specializes in representing LGBTQIA+ clients and brings nearly 15 years of expertise to these cases.  In addition, our attorneys represent clients through the National Center for Lesbian Rights immigration program, mentor attorneys on LGBTQIA+ asylum claims through a number of organizations, and regularly speak on LGBTQIA+ immigration issues.

We represent LGBTQIA+ clients in applications for asylum, fiancé visas, applications for permanent residency based on marriage, sponsoring a loved one, or in seeking a waiver.
